Women's drivers use Ladies (L) flex shafts, built lighter and more flexible than men's Regular or Stiff shafts, which helps generate clubhead speed at a typically slower swing tempo. Lofts also run higher on most women's drivers — usually 11.5° to 13°, versus 9-10.5° common on men's drivers — because a higher loft launches the ball higher and further at slower swing speeds, where a low-lofted head would send the ball flying low and short instead.
