A rainy round two did little to dampen Paul San's charge as he carded a solid five-under-par 67 to join Jeremiah Kim Leun Kwang atop the Supra Cup leaderboard on seven-under-par with one more day to go.
Three shots back of the leading duo are Syahiran Syakir and Edven Ying who signed in 69 and 72 respectively. Tied for fifth at three-under-par are Danial Faidz, Daeng Abdul Rahman, and Kenneth De Silva. Fakhrul Akmal posted the tournament’s lowest round so far, a six-under 66, placing him in eighth along with Hui Yong Shern, Danny Chia, and Galven Green.
San remained composed after learning he was tied for the lead, stating, "I'm just glad to give my best, no matter where I’m standing."
Kim, meanwhile, admitted the rain delay worked in his favor after struggling on the front nine with two birdies and two bogeys. After the delay, he dropped another stroke on the 13th but recovered with birdies on the last three holes for a two-under 70.
"Waiting for over three hours isn’t fun, but it helped me refocus," he said.
In the Ladies Championship, Winnie Ng, who had a seven-shot lead overnight, found herself six-over after 15 holes.
"I felt like I was floating and overthinking, but I’m proud I fought back with birdies on my final three holes," she said. Ng is now two-under for the championship at 142, six shots ahead of Qistina Balqis going into the final round.
Geraldine Wong, with a one-over 73, is in third at 149. Aretha Pan and Jocelyn are tied for fourth at 150, while Michelle Koh is two strokes further back after a six-over 78.
