Malaysia's number one professional Gavin Green clinched his best Olympic finish during his third outing at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
With scores of 74, 69, 69, and a third consecutive two-under-par 69 to wrap up his week at Le Golf National, the 30-year-old secured a joint 33rd-place finish alongside Fabrizio Zanotti of Paraguay with a tournament total of three-under-par.
Green's previous best finish was 47th place during his Olympic debut in Rio 2016. Alongside his teammate Danny Chia, the pair became the first Malaysian men's golfers to compete at the Olympic Games in 2016.
Green's notable achievements include winning the Asian Tour Order of Merit in 2017, highlighted by his maiden Asian Tour title at the Mercuries Taiwan Masters, and multiple runner-up finishes on the DP World Tour.
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler achieved an amazing comeback to secure the Olympic gold medal. The American carded a final round of nine-under-par 62 to finish on 19-under-par and be one shot clear of Britain's silver medallist Tommy Fleetwood. Japan's Hideki Matsuyama captured the bronze medal with a 17-under-par finish, surpassing his tied fourth-place result on home turf in the 2020 Olympics.
