Malaysia's Ashley Lau concluded her Olympic debut at Le Golf National with a six-over-par 78, finishing in joint 55th position.
The Malaysian posted scores of 72, 77, 79, and 78 to finish on 18-over-par, tying with Sara Kouskova of the Czech Republic. Lau's final round began with a bogey on the first hole, but she quickly regained her footing, carding birdies on the second and seventh.
However, a bogey before the turn saw her wrap up the front nine with a 36.
On the back nine, Lau encountered more challenges, with three bogeys and a nine on the par-four 13th. Yet, she showcased her resilience by finishing her round on a high note, sinking an eagle on the 18th.
New Zealand's Lydia Ko secured the gold medal in the Paris 2024 Olympics Women's Golf Event with a final round of 71, finishing at 10-under-par, two strokes ahead of silver medalist Esther Henseleit of Germany. China's Xiyu Lin claimed the bronze with a four-day total of seven-under-par.
Ko, who won silver at the 2016 Rio Olympics and bronze at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, completed her collection of Olympic medals and cemented her place in the LPGA Hall of Fame with this outstanding performance at Le Golf National.
