What Mizuno Have to Say:
A three-year project lead by our Yoro master craftsmen to develop a highly Stable, forgiving multi-metal construction iron which satisfied their aesthetic demands at address. Even with both lightweight Titanium and heavier Tungsten parts sealed within its 1025E mild Carbon steel head, the MP-18 MMC maintains a similar tour ready profile and size to the MP-18 SC.
Features & Benefits:
- Grain Flow Forged - Arguably one of the most precise forging processes in the world, grain flow allows Mizuno to line up all the molecules within the steel, resulting in precise flight and Spin numbers, but it also creates the feel Mizuno irons are famous for.
- Multi-Material Construction - The MP-18 MMC utilizes a blend of materials to deliver surprisingly high Forgiveness levels from such a compacted head shape. Combining Titanium, Tungsten and 1025E Carbon steel ensures great feel and extremely Stable club heads. The 8 gram Titanium insert allows the CG to move lower for higher Launch conditions. The shorter irons do not feature the Tungsten Toe weights making them more workable.
- Precision Head Shape - Special attention was paid to the proportions of the MP-18 MMC iron, the top line is thinner, the blade length are slightly more compacted and it has a sharper more refined PW compared to previous MP models. Sporting ever so slightly bigger proportions than the MP-18 MB allows the MMC to be blended with the MB or even the SC without the feeling of playing 2 different sets.
Our Recommended Player Profile:
The MP-18 SC is a purest iron sporting semi-blade properties. Designed with some Forgiveness in mind allows it to be workable, Flexible enough to be blended with other MP-18 models while remaining fairly forgiving for an iron in this category. It is best suited for the Mid-to-Low Handicap player seeking clean looks and workability but requiring some help from the irons when miss hit.
