MST Golf Academy was appointed the Golf Instruction Provider and facilitator for the PGM Academy in 2012 and has successfully graduated the first intake of students with each student earning their PGM Tour Card for 2013. Here’s what some of the 2012 graduates had to say:

Farid Rashid

I was seeking for guidance and this academy had really answered my call. I have successfully improved my skills, fitness, game plan, distance, attitude, discipline and also my emotional strength.

Keegan Kam

The structure of the whole program is really good where it prepares us for life on the golf tour. For instance, waking up as early as six in the morning and training everyday till six in the evening instantly increases the self-discipline and endurance of a person, subsequently sets up the right persona and attitude towards becoming a true professional.

Mohamed Firdaus

The facilities provided by the program itself, is sufficient to accommodate serious golfers who see golf as a career. Furthermore, the experience gained by playing with professional golfers on the PGM Tour is priceless and should be taken advantage of by the next intake of students.

Ong Jay Vie

I would like to express my appreciation to Ian Triggs, Stewart Ginn, Dean Hartman and his strong team from the MST Golf Academy. They are the soul of this academy and did a 6 months super great job for “polishing” us from a rough stone to a diamond.

KEVIN STREELMAN RE-SIGNS WITH THE WILSON STAFF BRAND

“Streels” continues to play Wilson Staff FG Tour V2 irons, from the

club manufacturer that operates near his hometown

CHICAGO, November 12, 2012 – Wilson Golf General Manager Tim Clarke announced today that the club manufacturer with more Majors won than any other brand has re-signed American professional golfer Kevin Streelman to a one-year, two-way contract.

Streelman, 34 years old, turned professional in 2001 after graduating from Duke University and signed with Wilson Golf in December 2010 after much success in the FedEx Cup. The Winfield, Illinois, native finished top ten in three PGA Tour events this past season with an eighth place finish at the John Deere Classic in his home state.

“Streelman is the epitome of the Wilson Staff brand - he is hard-working and possesses a strong passion to win,” celebrated Tim Clarke. “His positive attitude in tournament play is a true reflection of his personable, friendly character that we at Wilson Golf enjoy when he’s off the course.”

Streelman will continue to use Wilson Staff FG Tour V2 irons, carry his distinctive Wilson bag and branded cap, and promote the brand during tournament play around the world. In addition, Streelman excitedly participates in Wilson Golf sponsored events such as the annual Kevin Streelman Day, where he performs a question-and-answer style demonstration for some of Wilson Golf’s biggest customers.

“The R&D team at Wilson Golf has been extremely intentional in providing me the best feeling and performing equipment on the market, as well as relying on my feedback to implement in new product,” commented Streelman. “I know my voice is valued there and I would love to add another Major title to their list using my FG Tour V2 irons.”

PADRAIG HARRINGTON TAKES COMMAND IN BERMUDA

PADRAIG HARRINGTON TAKES COMMAND IN BERMUDA

Three time Major winner Padraig Harrington capitalizes his third opportunity at the 2012 PGA Grand Slam of Golf

CHICAGO, Oct. 25, 2012 – Wilson Staff professional Padraig Harrington captured the PGA Grand Slam of Golf tournament at the Port Royal Golf Course in Southampton, Bermuda. The Irishman carded a total of twelve birdies in just two rounds to finish nine-under par ahead of three American competitors – Webb Simpson, Bubba Watson, and Keegan Bradley.

His desire to return to the event stems from his prior participation twice at the Mid Ocean Club in Bermuda, where he lost in playoffs to Angel Cabrera in 2007 and Jim Furyk in 2008. “It was unfinished business for me, having lost in two playoffs. It was nice to come back and win it now. Yeah, it feels good,” commented Harrington earning a $600,000 prize. “Winning is a habit and it’s nice to do it.”

The Wilson Staffer proved his eagerness to make his third time a charm, capturing an early lead during the first round and showing consistency in birdie-making ability with the help of his Wilson Staff FG Tour V2 irons. With three birdies on the back nine of the final round, he edged U.S. Open champion Webb Simpson by one stroke for the victory.

Wilson Staff’s FG Tour V2 irons feature mass placed behind the impact zone for a traditional muscleback feel surrounded by a built-in cavity to provide forgiveness desired by even the world’s best players.

PAUL LAWRIE COMMITS HIS FUTURE TO WILSON STAFF

PAUL LAWRIE COMMITS HIS FUTURE TO WILSON STAFF

European Tour star resigns with Wilson Staff on the eve

of his second Ryder Cup appearance

CHICAGO, September 24, 2010 – European Tour star Paul Lawrie recommitted himself to a multi-year deal with Wilson Golf on the brink of representing Europe’s Ryder Cup team for a second time. He will continue to carry Wilson Staff irons in the Pro Tour bag, sport the branded cap and promote the brand in tournament play on a global basis.

“Wilson Staff clubs have been central to me playing the best golf of my career and so I’m delighted to be able to commit to the brand once again,” commented Lawrie, who won the 1999 Open Championship with Wilson Staff irons but thereafter made an equipment switch. Upon returning to Wilson Staff irons and wedges three years ago, the Scotsman championed three European Tour tournaments: “Wilson Golf has won more Majors than any other brand and I would love to add another Major title to the list using my FG Tour irons – by far the best set of irons in terms of feel and performance that I’ve played.”

This comes at a culminating time as Wilson Staff will greet the Advisory Member as he competes this week in the Ryder Cup in Medinah, just fifteen miles from Wilson Golf’s global headquarters. Lawrie’s recent domination on the international golf scene, with a current 28th Official World Golf Ranking and two European Tour victories this year for a career total of eight, secured his placement on the 2012 European team. Lawrie debuted at the Ryder Cup in 1999, and finished the week with an impressive 3-1-1 record.

As a global golf manufacturer approaching its 100th anniversary, Wilson Golf reflects upon the role it has played not only in Major tournaments but also in the historically-rich Ryder Cup. “The Staff brand has supported various Americans and Europeans battling for the Ryder Cup since the tournament initiated in 1926,” said Tim Clarke, General Manager of Wilson Golf. “We feel especially linked to this upcoming event because the venue is in our own backyard.”

Both Wilson Golf corporate headquarters and its recently-renovated R&D facility are located in Chicago. It contains an archive of custom-fitting files dating back to its inception in 1914, with such Ryder Cup contenders as Ed Furgol, Tom Watson and Padraig Harrington. “Wilson Staff is rooted in a strong history of success, and our current Tour support indicates more successes to come,” said Clarke. “By committing his immediate future to Wilson Staff, Lawrie’s expressing his faith in our ability to provide the best-performing clubs; it will be exciting for us to welcome him to our home soil and witness his hot streak first hand.”
