The contract signing between Professional Golf of Malaysia (PGM) and MST GOLF, to set up and operate the highly anticipated PGM Peak Performance Golf Academy signifies a new benchmark set for elite golf academy training in the South East Asia and viewed among the best in the world. The set-up of the PGM Peak Performance Golf Academy is to provide opportunity for the best male golf players in Malaysia to be trained under a Peak Performance Players Development Program, aiming to have more and better Malaysian players playing on both the Asian and European Tours. It is also to increase the talent pool of professional tour players in Malaysia and to make more impact on the international stage, plus raise the standard and competitiveness of the PGM tournaments and hence the merit and status of the PGM Tour within the region.
The PGM Peak Performance Players Development Program is the most comprehensive and holistic training program covering skills in all areas; Physical, Technical, Mental and Strategies, specifically for professional tour players to meet the demands of the peak performance in professional tournament play. This 5 year Program consists of a total of 7 terms, each 6 months in duration with 3 month intermission breaks between programs. The Program ties in with the actual tournaments under PGM Tour calendar and will also track performance on Asian Development Tour and Asian Tour events. 16 players including the current PGM tour players and up and coming young amateur players are selected to attend each term of the Program. Over the span of 5 years of this program, more than 100 players will go through the peak performance training which will prepare Malaysia for the 2016 Olympics where golf is to be re-introduced as an Olympic sport.

Headed by Pro Dean Hartman, a PGA of America member and established golf teaching professional from the USA, the PGM Peak Performance Golf Academy coaching staff consists of experienced and proven golf instructors and consultants in various area of skills expertise including Technical Coach, Mental & Emotional Coach, Sports Nutritionist, Physiotherapist, Fitness Trainer, Behavioral Optometrist, Equipment Specialist and Club Fitter, Motivation and Inspiration Speaker, Rules Official, PR Consultant, Program and Coaches Coordinator. Paul Gibbons added “The players have the opportunity to be trained under the watchful eyes of Australia’s best or perhaps one of the World’s best golf guru, Ian Trigg who has produced many world top tour players and champions. We also have multi tour winner and 2-time Malaysia Open winner, Stewart Ginn as part of our coaching staff to provide a winning edge and professional insight from inside the ropes of life on tour”.
Tun Ahmad Sarji who is the Chairman of the PGM and was present to witness the signing, informed that the PGM Peak Performance Academy is an essential part, in addition to the PGM Tour, to produce Malaysia future champion golfers. The Academy is homed at Kinrara Golf Club, where the facilities have been significantly upgraded to accommodate the Academy syllabus which has been designed with the immediate goal of producing more talented players for the Professional Golfers of Malaysia Tour and helps elevate more Malaysian Players onto the Asian, European, and US Tours. Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club and Impian Golf & Country Club are the extended training centers for course, range, short game, gym and classroom training. Tun has called upon the 16 players who attended the initial term as well as all our young talents in Malaysia, “To believe in yourselves, commit and work hard towards your goal.
